Discovering Your Value in Life (Part I)

By A.R Bernard

Mark 4:3- "Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times."
Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Mark 4:21- He said to them, "Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."

"Take heed what you hear", in another place He said "Take heed HOW you hear".

It is not the content of what you hear, but rather how you are processing the information that's coming to you.

With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.

A measure is a value, whatever value you place on what you hear, will determine the power in your life.

That explains how you can have thousands of people coming to the same service, listening to the same Word of God, but still it is evidently influencing and impacting one person but the person that was sitting next to him has no effect and has no productivity in his life.

It all depends on the value you place on what you hear.

The productivity of the Word of God, the Word is like seed that goes in to a life and brings forth a great harvest. But that Word will not work in your life if you don't place the proper value on that Word.

Heb : "The Word given to them did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith"

Hence, it depends on how you responds to the Word you hear.

If you think you can sit through the routine of coming to Church and expect a change in life, but not realize the Word of God is not working in your life, because you are not putting the right value in what you are hearing.

We are always doing this... every time we hear something, we put it on our mental scale, and place a value in it. The more value we place in it, the more impact it will have in our lives.

The relationship you have with the person who gives you the word can also determine the value you will give. The closer and the more cherished the relationship, the more value you'll place in it. Can you imagine if your relationship with God is deep and close, every word that comes from his mouth impacts your life.

Mat 6:25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Who am I? Why am I?

People are always trying to find their identity

Who we think we are,

Who we want people to think we are,

Who we really are... God knows who we really are.

Out of your identity comes your sense of value, your sense of worth.

God has made you uniquely different and distinct from everybody else. There is no other copies of you, you are the only ORIGINAL.

But if you don't know that, then you will live your life as a copy of someone else and never appreciate the original that God made you.

People will never value you the way God does.

The beginning of the identity crisis begins with the discover of your value to your Heavenly Father. Because your value, self esteem, self worth becomes the foundation upon in which you build your life.

My greatest value in life is my value to God, He will not change, my value to Him will always be the same, and it is the greatest value that I can ever have.
